Ann Kathleen Purcell

April 21, 1936 — June 14, 2024

Ann Kathleen Purcell (Formerly Conway) (nee Hopkins)

Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Purcell and the late Eugene F. Conway.

Loving mother of Eugene, Peter (Cari), and Robert Conway.

Dear stepmother of Charles, Thomas, Victoria, and Michael (Rhonda Heatly) Purcell, and Angela (Michael) Huspek

Cherished grandmother of Julia, Luke, and Emily Conway; Danny and Maggie Huspek, Ethan, Emma, and Lily Purcell.

Dear sister of Marilyn Bansley (the late John) and the late Jaqueline Brown (the late Elmer).

Fond sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to raising a family, Ann had a long career in the food industry with the majority of it spent at Kraft Foods. There she ended her career as manager of the Kraft Kitchens, where she worked with a group of home economists who tested and developed Kraft products for use in home and commercial kitchens.

Ann was also active in her sons’ school activities and was a long-time member of St. Walter Parish in Morgan Park. After moving to Palos Heights she and her husband Charles joined St. Alexander Parish.

After retiring she enjoyed traveling, winters in Arizona, being a member of the Palos Heights Women’s Club, and lunches with the St. Walter’s ladies and her Kraft girls. She loved family gatherings, especially if she hosted so she could put her extensive culinary skills on display. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and excellent meals will be missed by all who knew her.
