Arlene L. Busch

Arlene L. Busch (nee Christensen) of Palos Heights passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don of 56 years, her parents Olaf & Adalaide (Wangsness) Christensen, and brother Gordon Christensen.

Loving mother of Debra (Patrick) Greene, Don (Beth) Busch & Jacqueline Jensen. Cherished grandmother of Michael Walton, Heather (Thomas) Frazel, Kimberly (Greg) Humiston, Mark Busch, and Joseph & Nicole Walsh. Adoring great grandmother of Iris & Alicia Humiston. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was born in Chicago and moved to Palos Heights as a lifelong resident. She met her husband Don whose family was one of the original settlers of the area. Arlene and Don were one of the first couples married in St. Alexander Church in Palos Heights. Arlene had always been active in the community. She had a passion for city politics, even running for office and working with city leaders on fiscal responsibilities and common-sense initiatives.

Arlene attended Blackburn College and later finished her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Trinity Christian College. She worked as an accountant and also pursued a career in real estate, but her primary passion was being a homemaker spending quality time with her family.

Arlene was proud of her Norwegian heritage. Her father was born in Solberg, Norway and immigrated at an early age. She always tried to stay in touch with her Norwegian relatives and was fortunate to have taken two recent trips to Norway, one with her daughter and another with her granddaughters. She often spoke of the wonderful trips and how she cherished the time spent with her Norwegian kin. 

Memorial Visitation Saturday Feb. 15, 2025, 9am until time of Memorial Service 1pm at the Kerry Funeral Home & Cremation Center 7020 W. 127th Street Palos Heights, Il.
