Dennis R. Cole, a luminary in the realm of entrepreneurship and a dedicated family man, passed away on April 18, 2025, in Palos Heights, Illinois. He was born on May 14,1953, in Evergreen Park, Illinois and his life was a testament to the power of ambition and the joy found in nature's abundance.

As the founder and owner of First Logistics of Alsip, which he established in 2003, Dennis exemplified the spirit of a self-made businessman. As a business owner, he belonged to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), Warehouse, Education and Research Council (WERC) and the International Warehouse and Logistics Association (IWLA). His remarkable journey in the business world culminated in his retirement in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, determination, and respect from colleagues and clients alike. Many benefited from his visionary approach and unwavering work ethic, which earned him a well-deserved place in the community.

Dennis was not only revered for his professional accomplishments but also cherished for his personal passions. As an ardent musky fisherman, he often found solace on serene waters, where he sought the thrill of the “Big Catch.” His membership in the “Rusty Hooks Fishing Club” spoke to his love for the sport and the camaraderie among fellow fishing enthusiasts. He was also a leader for Palos Heights Pack 3337 and 337. Additionally, he was a member of the local Shriner Chapter 1166.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Debby (née Lewis), brother, Daniel Cholewiak, and his sister-in-law Susan. He was a loving father to Michelle Cole and doting grandpa who delighted in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Haley, Payton, Stella and Gracelynn. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will carry forth his memory through stories and laughter. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond Cholewiak and Lucille (née Kieldyk) of Chicago, who instilled in him the core values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Their spirits and values undoubtedly guided Dennis throughout his life, providing him with the grounding and steadfastness that he carried into every endeavor.

The sum of Dennis’s life resonates as a symphony of familial love, professional excellence, and personal fulfillment. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, as they gather to celebrate his remarkable life.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the remarkable life of Dennis R. Cole. Visitation will be held at Kerry Funeral Home on April 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a prayer service on April 25 at 9:30 AM. The Mass will take place at Saint Alexander Church at 10:00 AM, concluding with a heartfelt farewell.
