Emblem

Kenneth J. Benson

December 30, 1937 – July 9, 2024

Beloved husband of the late Joanne J. Benson

Loving father to Kevin (Karen) Benson and Kelly (Andrew) Tobias

Proud grandfather to Ashley, Ryan, Cody, Carli and Samuel.

Dear brother to the late Gerald (Sandra) Benson. Kind Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was the second son of Mae Benson (Cermak) and Nels Benson. He was raised in Cicero where he attended school and joined the army where he served as paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and military police. Upon his discharge he returned home where he met his wife Joanne Benson of 62 years and raised their family. During this time, he joined the Cicero Police department and retired at the rank of Lieutenant after serving proudly for 27 years.

In retirement he took a part time job at local hardware stores and continued to help others by fixing and repairing as he had many years’ experiences working side jobs during his career as a policeman. He enjoyed woodworking and could fix most anything. He enjoyed being with people and was always willing to lend a hand.

He spent the remainder of his years fishing, spending time with family at their Wisconsin lake home and traveling the world with his wife.

He passed peacefully and is eternally at rest with the Lord.
