Mark Flanagan

Mark was born in Chicago, IL November 16, 1957. He moved away from home when he was 17 because he was such a free spirit. The greatest love of his life was music. He was a talented singer & harmonica (harp) player. His musical partners included Jon Rothenberger (J.R.), David Knoerr & the late Jon Jaroszewski (Jon J) He played with great bands including The Eat Lead Gang 1982, PipeDreams 1984 to 1990, Wooden Ships 1990 to 1995 and Crosstown Blues Band 1997 until 2014. The last several years he took part in many Blues Jam sessions in the Chicagoland area.
He worked as a machinist for many years & then became a
member of Local 73 Sheet metal workers Union until he retired & then spent time as an Uber driver in Downtown Chicago where he enjoyed meeting so many new & interesting people.
He leaves behind his parents James Flanagan, North Port, FL & Judie Flanagan, Worth, IL, Brother Kevin Flanagan, Worth, IL, Sister Lisa (Michael) Kent, Waterloo, NE, Niece Candace Kent, Palos Heights, IL, Nephews Brad (Jamie) Flanagan, Evergreen, CO & Zachary (Amanda) Kent, Omaha, NE, Great nieces & nephews Hannah, James, Isaac & Zoey, Dear friends Deb Reidy Gendusa, Tina Reidy, Chuck Ingersol, Lifelong musical partners & great friends Jon Rothenberger & David Knoerr plus many more musician buddies & fans.
Visitation Saturday, April 29th 3pm-7pm at KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 West 127th Street, Palos Heights.
