Mark R. Walters

Mark R. Walters passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 63. A devoted father, loyal friend, avid motorcycle rider, and master of the grill, Mark lived his life with humor, resilience, and a heart full of love. 

He was the beloved father of Jason (Jessii) Walters and Janelle Walters, and the adored GrandPaw to his four-legged companions, Jack Jack, Bert, Shadow, and Nova. Mark was a dear brother to Dean, Kenneth, Terree and the late Raymond, a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend to Bill (Cheryl) Zofkie. 

Mark’s passions in life included grilling the perfect steak, cracking jokes with family and friends, and embracing the open road on his motorcycle. He was a man of strong values, sharp wit, and an undeniable love for those around him. His legacy of laughter, life lessons, and legendary barbecue techniques will live on in those who knew him best. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 West 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Toys for Tots Chicagoland Motorcycle Run, a cause close to Mark’s heart. 

To honor his memory, fire up a grill, take a ride, or flip off a loved one—because, in his book, that was always a sign of affection.
