Richard L. Leonard, age 93.
Devoted husband, father & grandfather.
Resident of Palos Heights since 1962.
Born and raised on a farm in Elkader, Iowa.
Proud U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII. Deployed as a trained sniper in France two weeks after the Normandy invasion. He was wounded in action spending most of the war in an army hospital in England. During his stay at the hospital he met the future Queen of England during one of her bedside visits.
Moved to Chicago after the war, receiving a BS degree in radio engineering in 1949.
Employed by RCA for 37 years rising to the position of Master Technician.
Met his future wife Stephanie at the Trianon Ballroom getting married in 1950. Raising four children here in Palos Heights. As a quiet and unassuming man he was home every night being loving and thoughtful husband to Stephanie while being a great father to his children.

Family & Friends will gather Friday, July 28th at Incarnation Church, 5757 W. 127th Street Palos Heights for a Memorial Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. followed by Military Honors.
Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private.
