Ronald J. Fara

Ronald J. Fara, age 87, of Palos Heights, Illinois passed away March 4, 2023, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones after a long lingering illness. 

Ron was born April 26, 1935 to the late Joseph and Anna (Trop) Fara in the back of his parents tavern in the Back of the Yards area of Chicago. Ron graduated in the Class of 1953 from Gage Park High School and then attended Hillsdale College where he studied business. Ron then served in the US Navy from 1955-1957.

Loving and devoted husband of Suzanne (Drazy) Fara whom he married on September 3, 1989, in Tarpan Springs, Florida.

Beloved father of JoEllyn (Terry) McGinty, Ronald G. Fara, and Julianne (Pat) Temple, and the stepfather to Kimberly (Kevin) Schmidt. Cherished grandfather to Travis Temple, Walter Kaleta, Kelly (Matthew) Huhtelin, Cara and Jacob Kaleta. Adored great grandfather to Blake and Bryan Huhtelin, Aria and Noah Kaleta, and Avery Cain. Ron was preceded in death by his brother Robert Fara and his sister Mariann (Fara) Konieczka.

Ron was the founder and owner of Ronald J. Fara Insurance Agency. He was an avid fly fisherman, golfer, and a charter member of Prestwick Country Club in Frankfort.

Visitation is Saturday, March 18^th from 9am until time of prayers, 11am at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights. Proceeding to St. Alexander Church, Mass 11:30 am.
