Scott T. Tracy

August 7, 1987 - February 28, 2025

Scott's life was a true testament to compassion and generosity, leaving a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and love. Born on August 7, 1987, he dedicated his life to uplifting others with a heart of pure gold. Scott married his college sweetheart and best friend, Janelle, on March 18, 2017, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. He and Janelle lived in Kentucky and Indiana before returning to their home state of Illinois to start their family. As a devoted husband and father, Scott found his greatest pride and joy in his daughters, Presley and Tessa, whom he held dear. His warmth, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends will forever be remembered.

Scott graduated from Eastern Illinois University. His career took him across the country, where he worked at Blood-Horse Publications, Angie’s List, and as a Senior Manager of Multimedia Production at Paylocity. True to his high achieving nature, Scott also had his own multimedia business. Those who worked with him will always remember his genuine and caring approach working with and advocating for others, along with his impeccable dedication to his beloved trade. As a gifted cinematographer he had the incredible opportunity to capture footage at the iconic Triple Crown horse races, as well as create unforgettable moments in the world of film and video.

Scott was a beacon of light, a steady source of guidance and strength, defined by his fiercely loyal spirit and devotion to his friends and family. His motto, “I’ve got your back,” wasn’t just something he said, it was something you immediately felt in his presence. A master of his craft and a true jack-of-all-trades, he always had an ace up his sleeve and Crocs on his feet. When he wasn’t tinkering with his toys in the garage, he was spending time at the lake and embracing the great outdoors, creating lasting memories with Janelle, his girls, family, and friends.

Scott is survived by his wife and best friend, Janelle (nee Gervasi), and their two daughters, Presley and Tessa. He was the precious son of Mary Mannix, and cherished son-in-law of Jolane (the late John) Gervasi. Scott was an incredible brother to Jenn Krieher and Dan Tracy and an amazing brother-in-law to Justin Krieher and Kristen Gervasi (Rick Kingery). He was a caring uncle to Julia, Kaleb, and Chloe, a treasured cousin, as well as a dear friend to many.

Although Scott’s ride through life ended suddenly, the mark he left on our hearts will last forever.
